Theatrix Costume House is an industry leader in providing costume rentals and custom designed costumes and accessories. Everything you need for your next production or special event is available for rent or purchase at Theatrix Costume House – it’s a truly transformational experience.
Founded in 1965 by Mr. Warren Hughes the little costume shop called “Catherwoods” was started on Yonge Street within the “hippie district”.
As the company continued to grow, Theatrix Costume House moved its headquarters to the theatre district on King Street West in Toronto. The company was later purchased by the DeVita family in the 1990’s and continued its expansion to include costume rentals for special events, weddings and corporate promotions. In September of 2010, Theatrix moved to Geary Avenue and was purchased by Gina Anki.
Located in an area steeped in history, Theatrix Costume House is currently housed at the old Eaton’s Stables, which was once the site for the Santa Claus parade preparations.
